FamilyRecipes Privacy Policy
Effective date: To be set at launch.
This policy explains what information FamilyRecipes collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. So the Service can store your recipes and sync them across your devices, the recipes and photos you add are kept on our servers — this policy describes how we handle them.
Who we are
FamilyRecipes is operated by Kearsarge Studios LLC ("we," "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact hello@kearsargestudios.com. This policy covers the FamilyRecipes app and its related services, not the Kearsarge Studios marketing website (which has its own privacy policy) or third-party websites you import recipes from.
Information we collect

How we use information
We use information to provide, secure, and sync the Service; to deliver sharing and import features you request; to send service-related email; to diagnose problems and improve the app; to communicate with you; and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Your Content to build advertising profiles.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We disclose information only to:
- Service providers that operate the Service on our behalf — for example, our hosting, database, and storage provider, our email provider, app analytics, and crash reporting — under contracts limiting their use of the data.
- People you choose to share with, who receive the recipes you share.
- Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
How long we keep information
We keep Your Content while your account is active. When you delete a recipe it is removed from your account; when you delete your account we delete Your Content within 30 days, except for content you have already shared with others, standard backups that age out on a rolling basis, and limited records we must retain to comply with law or resolve disputes. Server and diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of any sale or sharing (we do neither), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), other U.S. states with privacy laws, and the EEA/UK (GDPR) have these or similar rights. To make a request, email hello@kearsargestudios.com; we will verify and respond within the time the law requires. You can also export and delete your data directly — see below.
For EEA/UK users, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (where we ask for it), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent and have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and associated data from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete account), and you can also request deletion from our website at kearsargestudios.com/legal/familyrecipes/delete-account. See that page for exactly what is deleted and what, if anything, we retain.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
FamilyRecipes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, use the Service only with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
We operate in the United States, and information may be processed there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in a revised effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice in the app.
